York Road Paving Information
PennDOT and Highway Materials to begin Milling/Paving Work on York Road on Sunday, April 7, 2019
PennDOT and Highway Materials contacted the Borough on Monday, April 1, 2019 with an update to the York Road Milling and Paving Project. Highway Materials will begin the York Road Milling and Paving Project on Sunday, April 7th. Milling and Paving will begin at the south end of town (Newington Drive) and proceed north toward County Line Road.
Highway Materials expects the milling work to take one week to complete and expect the paving and re-painting to take an additional week. Throughout the project length of two weeks, there will be temporary parking restrictions on York Road from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM beginning and Sunday, April 7th through the completion of the project.
PennDOT and Highway Materials will be completing this milling and paving work overnight in accordance with the noise ordinance waiver issued by Borough Council on July 9, 2018. Working overnight will allow the milling and paving project to be completed quicker and pose less of an inconvenience to residents and motorists throughout the project duration.
PennDOT and Highway Materials have assured the Borough that any jackhammering and/or extremely loud work will be performed during the daytime hours to avoid disturbing residents. During overnight hours, there will be noise caused by the vibration of the milling and paving machines; however, this noise is not expected to be much of a disturbance to residents.
Please contact Borough Hall at 215-443-9100 with any questions regarding this project.
