Hatboro 2040 Comprehensive Plan

Help Create The Hatboro 2040 Comprehensive Plan

Hatboro is creating a new Comprehensive Plan (Hatboro2040) and a Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Plan. These plans will have long-range visions and sets of goals for Hatboro, with specific recommendations and strategies to achieve the vision.

Hatboro 2040 will provide a framework for managing places and spaces that make the town unique. It will explore what currently exists in Hatboro and recommend strategies to ensure future growth, development, and investment will make the town an even better place to live, work, and play.

The plan is shaped by you! Your input as interested citizens, business owners, and stakeholders is critical in shaping the vision for the future of Hatboro. By sharing what you love about Hatboro, and what you want to improve, you will help to create a plan that truly reflects what is important to the community.

Stay tuned for more information on public workshops and other opportunities to share your ideas regarding the future of Hatboro!

Citizen's Police Academy Class Announced

The 22nd session of the Citizen's Police Academy program will take place on Tuesday evenings beginning April 3, 2018 and continue each Tuesday evening through June 5, 2018. This session will be held at the new Hallowell Elementary School located at 501 Moreland Road, Horsham, PA 19044.   We are currently accepting applications now for this FREE 10-week course.

Presented jointly by the Horsham Township Police Department and the Hatboro Police Department, the Citizen's Police Academy has been a great success since its inception in 2000.

The Citizen's Academy shows those who attend just what the police officers do in the course of their day.  Classes include Accident Investigation, Crimes Code, Use of Force and participants take part in a "crime scene" investigation.  Demonstrations are presented by K-9 officers and the Montgomery County SWAT East Region Team.  Our local District Justice speaks about judicial issues.

There is no charge to participate! If you feel you would like to be part of this cooperative effort between the police and the community, please complete an application available at either the Horsham Township Police Station at 1025 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044 or at the Hatboro Police Station at 120 E. Montgomery Avenue, Hatboro, PA 19040. Applications are also available for download by clicking here.

Through your participation in the "Citizens Police Academy" program you are promoting community involvement, which in itself is the most powerful force any law enforcement agency has in the fight against crime. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with the members of the Horsham and Hatboro Police Departments about issues that concern you. We hope to see you there!

Any questions can be directed to Horsham Policing Coordinator Jon Clark at (215) 643-8284 or Hatboro Police Sergeant Andrew Valleley at (215) 675-2832.
