July Bulk Trash Pickups

Public Works will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. As a result, the Bulk Trash Pickup orgininally scheduled for this day will take place the following week. The July Bulk Trash Pickup schedule will take place as follows:

Wednesday, July 11th and Wednesday, July 18th.

Permits for either of these Bulk Trash Pickup days can be purchased at Borough Hall, Monday through Friday. Permits can be purchased up until 5 PM on the day before the deisred collection date.

Members Wanted For Human Relations Commission

The Borough of Hatboro is seeking members to serve on the newly established Human Relations Commission. This commission will consist of five (5) members who will be appointed to terms of three years. To serve on this commission, you must be a Hatboro resident or a business owner in Hatboro. Information regarding the specific duties of the commission are detailed in the Human Relations Ordinance. May Wawa Zoning Hearing Board Meetings

The Zoning Hearing Board will be meeting to hear the application submitted by Wawa on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 7 PM and on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 7 PM. Both meetings will take place in Borough Hall, 414 S. York Rd., Hatboro.

The Zoning Hearing Board will be hearing the application of Buckingham Retail Properties, LLC for the properties located at 402 & 412 S. York Road. (RC-2 Zoning District) and 29 Horsham Road (R-1 Zoning District) requesting zoning relief to permit a convenience store with motor vehicle fuel sales, as follows:

1) A substantive validity challenge to the zoning ordinance based on a de jure exclusion of retail stores with motor vehicle fuel sales; Or in the alternative

A substantive validity challenge to the zoning ordinance based on a de factor exclusion of retail stores with accessory motor vehicle sales; Or in the alternative

A variance from Section 27-602 and Section 27-1202.M "Use Regulations" to permit improvements associated with a retail store use in the R-1 Zoning District, and to permit an accessory use, motor vehicle fuel sales, not to be located at or above the second-story level; Or in the alternative

A variance from sections 27-602 and 27-1202 "Use Regulations" to permit a retail store with motor vehicle fuel sales in the RC-2 and R-1 Zoning Districts.

2) A variance from section 27-1205.1.F "Development Regulations for Retail Commercial Uses" to permit a permanent landscaped planting area of less than 15' in depth adjacent to an office use.

The public is invited to attend and will be given an opportunity to comment. The application and plans are available for review at Borough Hall, 414 S. York Rd., Hatboro, Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Proposed Parking Overlay Ordinance

Borough Council has been reviewing a proposed parking overlay ordinance. This parking overlay ordinance is designed to provide parking relief for businesses such as restaurants and retail along the York Road business district. Residents are encouraged to review the ordinance and provide feedback.

Hatboro 2040 Plan

The Montgomery County Planning Commission has released its 2017 annual report which highlights the various projects and programs the MCPC has been working on in the last year.

This year's annual report includes numerous photos taken during the beginning stages of the Hatboro 2040 Comprehensive Plan development.
